Though still a few weeks away, Capitol City Brewing Company’s announcement that it will host the area’s first-ever Spring Beer Festival on Saturday, April 26, is already generating some excitement in beer-sipping circles.

Fest organizers plan to have hundreds of different styles of craft beers for the inaugural springtime fest’s kick-off at The Village at Shirlington. More than 45 breweries are participating in the event. Along with hundreds of hand-crafted spring lagers and ales that will be pouring all day, the fest’s organizers are working with Shirlington Village restaurants and local vendors to provide tasty bites inspired by cuisines from all over the world.

Tickets run $30 per person, and include a wristband, tasting glass and 10 drink tickets. Additional drink tickets will be available for $1 each with a five-ticket minimum. Non-drinkers and designated drivers get in for free.
