Drink Beer, Help Homeless Pets at Denver Yappy Hours

"Patios, Pints and Pooches"

Back by popular demand the Denver Dumb Friends League is hosting Yappy Hours all over town. So get some friends and visit your favorite brewery for one of these five different Yappy Hours scheduled for this summer.

A Yappy Hour is where guests can enjoy a local craft beer while hanging out with friends and supporting Denver’s largest animal shelter. A portion of the proceeds from each event will be donated to the shelter. Breweries include Declaration Brewing, Denver Beer Company, Black Shirt Brewing, Renegade Brewing and Jagged Mountain Brewery. Also, the DDFL will be selling limited-edition pint glasses for $10 each. Each Yappy Hour will feature food trucks, prize giveaways and a chance for people to get together and celebrate our love for dogs.

Please note that as of this writing, dogs will not be allowed at the Declaration Brewing event because of the new Denver Health enforcement of the rules regarding dogs in breweries. DDFL has the following statement, "We want you to know that we're working with the host breweries to determine whether these events will continue to be dog-friendly, and we will post updates on our website as we know more. Many thanks for your understanding and patience!”

The dates and locations are as follows:

Declaration Brewing, Thursday, May 26, 6-8 PM (2030 S. Cherokee St.); Please leave dogs at home
Denver Beer Company, Tuesday, June 7, 6 - 8 PM (1695 Platte St.); Pooch-friendly patio, dogs welcome
Black Shirt Brewing Company, Thursday, June 23 6 - 8 PM (3719 Walnut St.); Please leave dogs at home
Renegade Brewing, Thursday, July 14, 6 - 8 PM (925 W. 9th Ave.); Pooch-friendly patio, dogs welcome
Jagged Mountain Brewery, Sunday, August 14, 1 - 4 PM (1139 20th St.)

“Denver is such a pet-friendly community that really values the human-animal bond, and one that takes a lot of pride in its local craft beer scene,” says Megan Rees, Public Relations Manager for the Dumb Friends League. “It’s a natural connection to bring the two together to help raise awareness about the services we offer and to raise money to help the homeless pets in our care.”

The mission of the Denver Dumb Friends League is to help homeless pets and end animal suffering. Last year, the shelter cared for more than 20,000 animals. Help them out by sipping your favorite local beer.
