Green Flash Brewing Releases Treasure Chest 2016 to Fight Breast Cancer

"Raise a glass to find a cure"
by Carrie Dow on Aug 22, 2016 in Beer

Green Flash Brewing in California has announced the release date for its sixth annual Treasure Chest program to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer charities. Once again, this program will feature the annual release of Treasure Chest beer packaged in 22 oz. bottles across most of the nation.

Raising money for breast cancer research is a cause that is close to everyone at Green Flash. Brewery Co-founder Lisa Hinkley is a breast cancer survivor and is passionate about helping others whose lives have been affected by this disease. Her mission is to “raise a glass to find a cure.”

“As a six-year breast cancer survivor, I am thrilled to see the Treasure Chest program grow every year,” says Hinkley. “Thanks to the support of our consumers, we are proud to have raised over $220,000 dollars for our national and regional charity partners to date. I am hopeful the program will only continue to build momentum as we strive toward making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by breast cancer.”

Treasure Chest beer will be available in bottles and on-tap in over 27 US states from September through November 2016. The bright pink bottles will be easy to spot and proceeds will go to three charities, which include Prevent Cancer nationally and the Susan G. Komen Foundation affiliates in both San Diego and Virginia Beach, the East and West Coast locations of Green Flash Brewing.

Treasure Chest is an exotic pink-colored IPA made with grapefruit, prickly pear juice and hibiscus flowers. Using 100% Mosaic hops, this extra citrusy beer is sweetened by the combination of refined stone fruits. The beer is 5.7% ABV and 65 IBU.

Below are the event highlights of the 2016 Green Flash Treasure Chest charity program:
