Rick Astley is Teaming Up with a Danish Brewery to Create His Own Beer

by Jessie Donofrio on Jan 4, 2017 in Beer

Rick Astley, known for his infamous 1987 hit song "Never Gonna Give You Up," isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you hear the phrase beer connoisseur. But secretly, he’s a self-proclaimed beer lover and wants the world to know.

The crooner is teaming up with Mikkeller Brewery in Copenhagen to make the yet to be named brew. All we know currently about the beer is that it’s going to be a fruity pilsner.

Astley told Weekend magazine, according to the Mirror, "Mikkeller beer is quite experimental and they've been sending me various bottles to sample…Some are quite fruity - one was a pear beer they make for a restaurant, but we've gone for a pilsner type lager."

Once we try this one, we’re hoping it will be hard to give it up or even let it down. Something tells us, though, that the singer may be Rickrolling us all as a ploy to sell tickets to his upcoming tour.
