Troegs Beer Dinner Extraordinaire

What: Five-course tasting dinner with beer pairings
Where: The Beacon Hotel, 1640 Rhode Island Ave., NW
When: 6:30 PM, Thursday, November 4
Price: $39 per person

Chef Hunter's creative menu pairs beautifully with selected beers from Troegs Brewery. Cocktail reception at 6:30 PM, sit down dinner at 7 PM.


Friday, November 4

Capital Cause Changemaker Cocktail Reception

What: Second anniversary celebration & charity reception
Where: Local 16, 1602 U St., NW
When: 7–10 PM, Friday, November 4
Price: $20 per person (includes food, wine and beer)

Join young professionals to celebrate Capital Cause’s second anniversary, choose the 2012 cause and recognize young philanthropists.


Saturday, November 5

Hike and Wine Tasting along the Virginia Wine Trail

What: Leisure hike with wine tastings
Where: Wine Excursions, 6511 Sudley Rd., Manassas, VA
When: 11AM-4PM, Sunday, November 5
Price: $69 per person

A short, 2-mile hike with experienced guides through the Manassas Battlefields includes stops for tastings at two local vineyards, lunch with beverages and a complimentary bottle of wine.

Cocktail Throwdown: Gina Chersevani vs. Owen Thomson

What: Cocktail competition at the DC Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show
Where: DC Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place, NW
When: 11 AM–noon, Saturday, November 5
Price: $74.50 (includes this event plus entry to the general show and wine and spirits pavilion)

Gina Chersevani, Head Mixtress at PS7, and Owen Thomson, Lead Bartender for Jose Andres’ Think Food Group, go head to head in a cocktail throwdown to find out who really serves up the best drinks in town.


Sunday, November 6

The Rebirth of Punch with Naren Young of ShakeStir

What: Tastings and punch class at the DC Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show
Where: DC Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place, NW
When: 12:30–1 PM and 3:30–4 PM, Sunday, November 6
Price: $67 ($24.50 general admission and $22.50 beer/wine ticket needed to attend)
