Bars in Baltimore Open on New Year's Day

The first day of the year offers tipplers an interesting conundrum: after partying the night before (and – to be honest – most of the week before), what should one do on January 1? Some may choose to spend the entire day in bed, alternately dosing with aspirin and chocolate. Others might get the kinks out by taking to nature with a bike ride or hike. And then, there’s the rest of us, who know enough to get our hair of the dog on at one of the several bars and restaurants open just for us. Check our list of open establishments and specials below. Alonso's & Loco Hombre: Open 11 AM–10 PM; from 11 AM–3 PM $10 All you can drink Bloody Marys, mimosas, screwdrivers, bellinis; upstairs bar open at 1 PM with $1 soft pretzels, $1 corndogs, 50-cent wings and $2 select drafts

Alexander's Tavern: Open for brunch 10 AM–3 PM with $3.50 mimosas, Bloody Marys and screwdrivers; then showing NFL games with $2.50 Miller Lites, $3.50 Blue Moons , $15 microbrew buckets (choose 5 beers) and $5 wings 

Alewife: Open 11:30 AM–1 AM

Dionysus: Open 8 PM–2 AM; drinks only

DuClaw: All locations open at 11 AM (except at the aiport, which is open at 7 AM)

Frank & Nic's: Open at 11:30 AM

Grand Central: Open at 3:30 PM; NFL games; two-for-one rail drinks

Kooper's Tavern: Open for brunch 10 AM–2 PM; open again for Industry Night at 9 PM

Leinenkugel's Beer Garden: Open noon–2 AM; from 1–8 PM $3 Leinie seasonal pints

Little Havana: Open at 11 AM; until 3 PM all-you-can-drink Bloody Marys and mimosas

MaGerk's Pub: Open 11 AM–2 AM; $3 Miller Lites; $4 Firefly drinks; $7 buckets of Ponies; 1/2-price burgers

Mahaffey's Pub: Open at 3 PM; 3 beers for $5 until 7 PM

The Point in Fells: Open 10 AM–2 AM; live music

Slainte Irish Pub: Open at 7 AM; $5 Irish Coffee, $10 Corned Beef and Cabbage + NFL Sunday Ticket

Talara: Open 10 AM–3 PM; special holiday brunch buffet

Woody's Rum Bar: Open at 11 AM for lunch
