Dupont Groundhog Day

What: D.C.’s own weather prognosticating rodent will emerge to check his shadow

While no beverages will be served at Dupont Festival’s inaugural Groundhog Day ceremony, there’s reason to toast the introduction of Potomac Phil, who is ancestrally related to the original Punxsutawny Phil up in PA. Come out to the festival to find out if we will have six more weeks of winter.

$4 Margaritas at El Centro D.F.

What: Top-notch margaritas at happy hour prices

Alexandria’s Port City Brewing is celebrating their first anniversary by brewing a single 30-barrel batch of a Belgian imperial stout they call ONE. Check out their blog to find more than a dozen D.C. bars (plus several more outside the city) that will all simultaneously tap the new brew at 6 PM.

Beer Bowl

The Super Bowl is as much about beer as it is about football. Enjoy brews from the teams’ home regions; Sam Adams Boston Lager from New England and Brooklyn Lager from New York will be available by the pitcher for $15 and by the pint for $4. Pair it with upscale game-day eats such as prosciutto and fontina potato skins and Old Bay puffed pork rinds. Because you’re classy like that.

Cocktail Seminar with Alex Strange

What: An Introduction to the Bar: Classic and Prohibition Era Cocktails
