Custom Drinks with Google's New Recipe Search
Enter the name of almost any cocktail into the search box, and the googlebots automatically recognize it as such (as evidenced by Futurama’s Bender, robots like their alcohol). In addition to the standard listings, check out the left-hand sidebar for special recipe-oriented filters to refine your results even more.
Looking to concoct a sazerac made with cognac? How about a mojito that uses basil instead of mint? Just check of “Yes” or “No” for next to the appropriate ingredient and reap the rewards. On a diet? Check the right box to find drink recipes with under-500, under-300 and under-100 calories (okay, there aren’t too many of those).
The tool should only get better as more and more web developers start implementing the code (it depends on a bunch of behind-the-scenes tags called “rich snippets”). For now, we’ll be in the kitchen, shaking up new tweaks on our favorite apertifs.
