Breckenridge Brewery Celebrates 20th Anniversary With New Menu, New Decor

Time flies when you’re drinking good beer. This month marks two decades since founder Richard Squire brought his nascent craft brewery to Denver, which became the first Colorado facility to package craft beer in six-packs. Breckenridge Brewery now ships more than 40,000 barrels of brew all across the nation, and oversees five brewpubs across the state.

Now known as Breckenridge Colorado Craft, the original Denver pub on Blake Street got a facelift for its 20th birthday (appropriate for a restaurant at that age, if not for a person), and the new decor incorporates more natural materials. Perhaps more importantly, the renovations included the addition of 16 new taps behind the bar.

Both the food and drink menu have also been revamped to include more beer selections and locally sourced and (somewhat) healthier selections. You’ll now find 30 Local brews on tap, including Breckenridge Extra ESB, Nitro Vanilla Porter and Christmas Ale, Avery Ale to the Chief, Odell Isolation Ale and several more. (Check out the full current tap list below.) In addition to expanded brew offerings, there’s now a house-crafted margarita on tap, and a host of wines.

On the food side, pair your brews with go-to snacks like pretzel knots, but also consider a smoked sausage platter with wild boar and bison meats or a seasonal fresh veggie quesadilla. Eight different salads fill out the light side, and of course there are always burgers, in nine options, including vegetarian. A whole slate of soups, sandwiches and entrees fills out the bill of fare.

We’ll have more on the new digs soon, but in the meantime, this is a good chance to stop by the bar, just north of LoDo, for some local suds and bites.
