There are very few instances left in our adult lives that allow for dressing foolishly and getting way too tipsy. Don't miss out this year — many bars in Portland are providing the beats and the booze and (per this list) Halloween 2013 is shaping up to be the best one yet. 

11th Annual HOWL Dance Party
9 PM–5 AM, October 25; $30 Advance, $40 Door

Dance party to benefit the City Repair Project. Multiple stages, both indoor and outdoor. 21+

Halloween Dance Party and Costume Contest at Edgefield’s Blackberry Hall
8–11 PM, October 26; $10

Dance party and costume contest. Music by Dance Hall Days combines pop, rock, jazz and soul. 21+

Heaven and Hell Halloween Party 
4 PM–Close, October 26; $5 cover starts at 8 PM
EastBurn (1800 E Burnside St.; 503-236-2876)
A benefit, Halloween party, and costume contest to support the Full Life Foundation. Seven bands will perform starting at 4 PM. Costume contestants selected between 9-10 PM and winner receives $500 prize. 21+

Midnight Serenaders Halloween Bash

Midnight Serenaders (six-piece swing band) hold its fourth annual Halloween bash with additional music by Bridgetown Sentet and burlesque performances by Babs Jamboree. 21+

Bollywood Horror XI Halloween Costume Dance Party
9 PM–Close, October 26; $5 before 10 PM, $8 after 10 PM

For the 11th year, DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid host this Bollywood Horror Costume Dance Party. Dance performances by Bridgetown Revue. 21+

Phantom Halloween Party
8 PM, October 26; $40 or $75 VIP, advance purchase
The Leftbank Annex (101 N. Weilder St.; 503-928-6437)
Said to be the largest, most insane Halloween costume party in Portland. Signature cocktails by Beam and Phantom Ale from Stickmen Brewery. Three dance floors, stilt walkers, zombie circus and fire dancers.

Zombie Brunch at The Original
8 AM  – 3 PM, October 27; regular menu with themed cocktails

A modern version of The Zombie with a "bath salt"  rim, in addition to the The Original's Halloween Cocktail, The Face Eater.

Halloween at Kennedy School
4:30PM, music at 7:30 PM, October 31; Free

Special beer releases to accompany trick-or-treating and music by Freak Mountain Ramblers. Viewings of scary movies throughout the night: Young Frankenstein, Evil Dead II (R) and Dead Alive (R).

'90s Dance Flashback Halloween at Crystal Ballroom

'90s dance party with the best '90s music videos played on a projection screen. Don't forget to dress the part, there will be prizes for the best themed costumes. 21+
