Bars in D.C. Open on Christmas Day

It’s quiet around town on December 25. Most shops are shuttered, as employees and workers gather with families and friends for feasts and gifts. Even those who don’t celebrate Christmas often take the day off. Sure, there are the standby Chinese restaurants, who have found a niche in catering to the holiday crowd, but what else is open, should you want to head out a catch a nip? Check out our list of bars open on Christmas Day, below. (As always, if your bar is missing, let us know and we’ll add it here!)

Black Cat: Open 8 PM–2 AM; DJ night; specials on Christmas beers

Blue Banana: Open regular hours;  $12 pitchers; $3 Natty Boh; $4 PBR

Blue Duck Tavern: Open at 10:30 AM with special brunch ($90 per person, $42 for kids); a la carte dinner 6:30 PM–close

Crystal City Sports Pub: Open 8 AM–2 AM

Eighteenth Street Lounge: Open 9 PM; from 9–11 PM: $5 rail drinks & select beers $5; $7 call drinks; $5 wines; $8 specialties

Gazuza: Open 8 PM–2 AM

Green Lantern: Open at 9 PM; $18 Bacardi all-you-can-drink special

J&G Steakhouse: Open for breakfast 8–10:30 AM; open noon–9 PM with full menu or $75 Christmas dinner

Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club: Open 10 PM–2 AM

Meridian Pint: Open 8 PM; drinks only

Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar: Open 5 PM–2 AM

The Mighty Pint: Open at 5 PM; $3 drafts (including Guinness); $5 rail drinks (served by the pint, of course)

Nanny O’Brien’s: Open at 7 PM; drinks only

Nellie’s Sports Bar: Open at 5:30 PM; serving egg nog and more

The Pug: Open at 8 PM

Rhino Bar: Open noon–3 AM; drink specials; football on TV; dancing

Star & Shamrock: Open 4 PM–2 AM; $1 off all He'Brew drafts; $5 Manischewitz sangrias; $1 off fig-infused Irish whiskey; $1 off mandarin-and-black-cherry-infused rye whiskey

Touchdown: Open 11 AM–2 AM; $3 beers; happy hour 4–7 PM and midnight–close with 25% off all drafts and appetizers

Town Tavern: Open noon–3 AM

Union Pub: Open 4 PM–midnight
