Try These Summer Cocktails This Season in D.C.

It’s officially summertime in the city, and we can’t think of a better way to cool off from DC’s heat and humidity than with a cold, boozy cocktail in hand. Check out these summertime specials, arriving just in time for temperature relief.

This summer, the modern steakhouse will be featuring a more savory libation through August - the Bull Shot will be the restaurant’s signature summer cocktail, served chilled in individual thermoses. The beef consomme-based drink will also incorporate, hot sauce, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Vodka and lemon juice. (2800 Pennsylvania Ave, NW; 202-944-2026)

What’s summertime without outdoor movies? Each Tuesday through August 6, head to the rooftop of the Georgetown hotel and taste a specialty cocktail made to pair with a specific movie that will show at the Georgetown Waterfront. Before snagging outdoor seats to the movie screenings, enjoy Sunset Cinema cocktails like the “You’re Killin Me Smalls” with Angostura, orange, Lilet and gin made for...you guessed it, Sandlot. (1075 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW; 202-337-0900)

Cool off with the downtown Mexican restaurant’s new frozen cocktails. The three options are frozen plays on familiar cocktails: MX Frosé with rosé, tequila, St. Germain and strawberry purée, the Frozen Negroni with El Buho mezcal, Campari, Cocchi Torino and orange bitters and the Frozen Paloma with Milagro blanco tequila, house grapefruit soda and lime. (666 14th St,NW; 202-393-1900)

Throughout the month of August, check out the Mediterranean spot’s Gin and Tonic Bar, which will feature six gins from various countries mixed with house-made tonics and herbal infusions. Guests will be able to select their own gin and tonic to create their own unique concoction. (800 F St, NW; 202-347-4667)

Get a taste of extra-carbonated cocktails with drinks from the Shaw newcomer’s highball menu. Utilizing a special Toki Highball Machine, the craft cocktails from the Japanese-influenced restaurant and bar have an added fizz, perfect for summertime sipping. Try the gin options for an extra refreshing drink: the Kabuki Springs with Roku Gin, Italicus, grapefruit, lemon and baller bubbles and the Getaway with Roku Gin, apricot liqueur, passion fruit, tamarind vinegar, Peychaud’s and baller bubbles. (1544 9th St, NW; 202-506-1769)
