Last week, Cleveland Park hotspot Ripple debuted a tempting new Monday–Thursday happy hour featuring a grilled cheese bar. From 5–6:30 PM and 10:30 PM–midnight, you can order a custom version of a toasty, melted sandwich created with any of 15 different cheeses, a choice of several types of bread and add-ons like veggies, meat and spreads.

If you are done with decision making for the day, choose from one of the pre-made combos designed by the pros. Look for the krusty krab (jumbo lump crab imperial with béchamel; $11); the lotsa mozza  (housemade mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, speck; $8); and the stinky pete (epoisse cheese, asparagus, anchovy; $9) among many others. The best part? The bar also features half-off all draft beer and wines during the happy hour, which means you have more than 50 choices of  to wash down your cheesy snack. Whether it’s an after-work snack or a late-night pick me up, this is comfort food at its finest.
