Daily Grill Introduces New Happy Hours and Renovated Bar
The bar at Dupont’s Daily Grill is sporting a new look — and new happy hour items to go along with it. The classic 18th Street spot beloved by neighboring law firms and downtown types is looking sleek with $250,000 worth of upgrades, including new booths, communal tables, a sophisticated new lighting design and an upgraded surround sound system in the bar area.
Our favorite part? The new happy hour lineup, which is available daily from 4–7 PM, Saturdays from 11 AM–7 PM, Friday and Saturday nights from 11 PM–1 AM and all day Sunday. Specials include $2 off a new lineup of draft beer, plus the $4 handle of the day which pays homage to American craft beer, most frequently from the East Coast.
Featured cocktails are $6. There are four of them, but our favorite is the Golden Age, a classy but not-too-stiff martini made with Grey Goose, Chamboard, skewered berries and just a splash of bubbly. Aspiring mixologists can build their own martinis, relatively speaking, by selecting a vodka (or gin), choosing between dry and dirty and adding a “final touch” (bleu cheese twist, anyone?) — all for just $8.
Prices just get better from there. Selected wines by the glass are $4, as are a selection of bar bites (including popcorn shrimp, salmon burgers, chiken quesedillas an “fiery” calamari) while five food items ring in at just $3, including the Capitol dog (which comes with bacon, obvi) and the parmesan truffle frites.
Drink like a lawyer on an intern’s salary? We’ll take another!
