Washington, D.C. Bars and Restaurants Open on Christmas
After the presents have been opened, the carols have been sung and the Christmas ham has been devoured, it’s time for one of two things to happen: faceplant on top your bed in a food coma or head to the local watering hole for a nightcap and maybe more food (‘tis the season?). If you fall into the latter category, check out the bars and restaurants below that will be open for business.
America Eats Tavern: 7 AM–2:30 PM
Three words: Christmas cookie buffet. Come for brunch, decorate your own sugar cookies and then savor some of Chef Jose Andres’ favorite holiday treats and desserts. (1700 Tysons Blvd., McLean; 703-744-3999)
Blue Duck Tavern: 11:30 AM–9 PM
Blue Duck will be serving a three-course holiday meal including seasonal breads, cheeses and meats, your choice of a plated entree and side dishes and festive desserts to top it all off. $100 for adults, $45 for children. (2400 M St., NW; 202-419-6755)
Bourbon Steak: 5:30–10 PM
The Four Seasons’ restaurant will be closed for lunch but will be offering Christmas dinner specials. The lounge will also be open from 12 PM–12AM. (2800 Pennsylvania Ave., NW; 202-944-2026)
Cafe Berlin: Seatings start at 2 PM
Choose from a prix fixe, three-course menu for $39. (322 Massachusetts Ave., NE; 202-543-7656)
District of Pi: 1–11 PM
Serving up pizza incase your Christmas is in need of some cheesy goodness. (910 F St., NW; 202-393-5484)
Farmers, Fishers and Bakers: 12–8 PM
Both lunch and dinner menus will be available. (3000 K St. NW; 202-298-8783)
J. Paul’s: 11:30 AM–2 AM
J. Paul’s will be offering a special Christmas menu of lobster bisque, rack of lamb, roasted duck breast and honey baked ham in addition to their entire menu. (3218 M St., NW; 202-333-3450)
La Tasca: 11 AM–9 PM
Serving up their regular menu of Spanish-inspired tapas and sangria, La Tasca will be open. (722 7th St., NW; 202-347-9190)
Meridian Pint: Opens at 8 PM
Head over for a drink at the bar area only, no food service. (3400 11th St., NW; 202-588-1075)
Rosa Mexicano
Stop by for a four-course, prix fixe dinner at $35 per person. Try the seasonal special drink: Rosa Royale with sparkling cava, fresh pomegranate juice, Cointreau and agave nectar. (575 7th St., NW; 202-783-5522)
Rural Society: Opens at 5 PM
This Argentinian, meat-centric restaurant will be offering a four-course prix fixe menu including braised Wagyu beef and prime rib for $75 per person. (1177 15th St., NW; 202-587-2629)
Sequoia: 10 AM–2:45 PM
Enjoy a Christmas buffet brunch with bottomless bloody marys, mimosas and bellinis. $59.95 for adults, $24.95 for children. (3000 K St., NW; 202-944-4200)
Station 4: 5–11 PM
This Waterfront restaurant will be offering it’s regular dinner menu. (1101 4th St., SW; 202-488-0987)
Virtue Feed & Grain: 3–10 PM
Along with the full dinner menu, they’ll have Christmas specials including a scallop gratin and lobster thermidor. Sip on their Christmas Sangria, which they’ve been referring to as “a tall refreshing glass of Christmas.” (106 S Union St., Alexandria; 571-970-3669)
