DC Central Kitchen Sound Bites Food and Music Festival, May 19
This Sunday, the 9:30 Club is going to be rocking harder than usual, as Sound Bites descends on the hotspot. From 1 PM on, a party featuring 25 of the District’s best restaurants and food trucks, a mixology battle and seven local bands will take over, and it’s all for a good cause to raise funds for DC Central Kitchen’s mission of using nutritious food to change lives.
Your $40 ticket (here) includes all-you-can-eat food from kitchens like Astro Doughnuts, Jaleo, The Hamilton, Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, Shake Shack, Masa 14 and a ton more. Fat Shorty’s grilled sausages will debut. At 2:30 PM the mixology competition kicks off, pitting shakers from The Gibson, Bar Pilar, Black Jack and Birch & Barley against one another in a bar battle. Todd Thrasser, Fritz Hahn and chef Anthony Lombardo will judge.
Bands will provide live music on stage throughout the night, and the party will roll on, with great drinks available for purchase at the bar all evening — the better to wash down your free food and also support DC Central Kitchen. Tickets are limited, so don’t delay.
