Celebrate American Craft Beer Week, May 12 - 18
From May 12th – 18th, the Brewers Association has called for the United States to “brewnite” under the common cause of craft beer. There will be a diverse spread of events throughout Washington D.C. to honor another successful year of domestic brewing. Check out and head to the events listed below, and if you know something we don’t, be sure to let us know on Facebook or Twitter. Cheers, America!
Wed, May 14, 7 – 9 PM
Green Flash Beer Dinner at Fire Works Pizza Courthouse
One of American craft beer's biggest players in the hoppy beer scene but by no means are they a one-trick pony. Capable of brewing some interesting takes on Belgian-style beers and other not-so-hoppy styles. Beer lineup (subject to change): West Coast IPA Saison Diego Imperial IPA Road Warrior (Imperial Red Rye IPA) East Village (hopped-up Czech Pils) Le Freak (Belgian IPA).
Thu, May 15, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
History & Hops at Heurich House Museum
3 Stars Brewing Company will be bringing three of their beers along with them for this evening of history and hops. The late Christopher Heurich was the world’s oldest brewer when he died in 1945 at age 102. Celebrate the history of craft beer with a blend of craft beer and history.
Fri, May 16, 9 PM – 12 AM
Mad Fox Brewing/Big O and Dukes Collab Launch Party at Mad Fox Brewing Company
Mad Fox is using ACBW to showcase their special concoction made in conjunction with the “Big O and Dukes Show”. The thousand-gallon batch has been divvied up into 64 kegs, so there ought to be plenty of the hoppy brew to go around. Of course, the radio personalities that inspired the libation will be in attendance at Mad Fox.
All Week Long:
Smoke & Barrel: Depleting the stock of all SAVOR kegs with typical daily happy hour from 5-7
Irish Whiskey Public House: $5 drafts: Atlas Rowdy Rye Ale, DC Brau Tradition Golden Ale, and Slyfox Irish Red. Half-off wings and pretzel bites; “Buh, Bye Beers” are all $4
