Where to Celebrate Derby Day in D.C.
Derby Day in DC is fast approaching, which means you need these three things: seersucker anything, a ridiculous hat, and an endless supply of mint juleps within arm’s reach. Don your Derby Day best and head to these bars/restaurants to celebrate the fastest two minutes in sports.
Bar Dupont
Four specialty cocktails will be available during all Triple Crown races. This weekend, make sure to try The Derby, made with bourbon, sweet vermouth, orange curacao and lime. BLT Steak
Join head bartender James Nelson as he mixes up two variations of the classic derby cocktail: a Traditional Julep (mint-infused Maker’s Mark, simple syrup and fresh mint) and a Spiced Peach Julep (mint-infused Maker’s Mark, spiced peach syrup, fresh mint and bruléed peach). Due South
If you’re looking to go all out on Derby Day, head to Due South, where you can get $40 bottomless frozen mint juleps along with Derby-themed food specials and the chance to win prizes and giveaways including a $150 gift card to the restaurant. Jack Rose

Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar
Get your tickets to the 3rd Annual Kentucky Derby Pig Roast. Bourbon lovers can rejoice, as Chef Ryan Gordon from the Queen Vic has partnered up with Little Miss Whiskey’s to create a menu incorporating bourbon into all roast items. For $48, you’ll get all you can eat access to items like Apple and Bulleit Bourbon injected whole roasted pigs, Bulleit Bourbon and caramel dipped pork belly lollipops, pimento mac and cheese, and more. Southern Efficiency

Celebrate the Kentucky Derby at the Willard’s annual Bonnets and Bowties event.
