How to Celebrate Father's Day 2016 in D.C.
Father’s Day is around the corner, and there are plenty of options to celebrate your dad. From cooking classes to cigar samplings to hearty brunch specials, here’s our list of best bets. Spoiler alert: there’s a lot of whiskey involved.
Dinner and Jazz at Bayou Bakery

Whiskey and Cigars at Bourbon Steak

Pearl Dive Crawfish Boil
If your dad is a seafood lover, take him to Pearl Dive’s second and last crawfish boil of the season. Take your dad on a shopping spree and then enjoy free whiskey and spirits tastings served by a mixologist at Shinola (1 PM - 5 PM) and by master distiller Becky Harris of Catoctin Creek up the street at Filson (2 PM - 6 PM). Early Mountain Vineyards
Get out of the city and celebrate Father’s Day at Early Mountain Vineyards’ Field Day. Enjoy live music, a locally sourced lunch with items including chicken salad sandwiches with garlic aioli and pickled ramps, whole roast porchetta with kale and pickled onions, pastrami sandwiches, roasted cauliflower and carrot salad, and vegetable sandwiches. The downtown gastropub will be serving up a hearty brunch for Father’s Day. Dads can choose between King-Cut Dry Aged Prime Rib with sour cream and chive stuffed potatoes, texas onion rings and bourbon-horseradish sauce or Alaskan King Crab legs with dirty bacon, crab fries and grilled sweet corn on the cob.
