Where to Day Drink This Summer in DC

by Lanna Nguyen on Jun 21, 2016 in Roundups

There’s nothing quite like spending a summer afternoon day drinking. Whether you’re playing hooky from work or are one of the lucky ones who works a summer schedule, head to these bars with daytime drink specials.

Boundary Road
From Tuesday - Friday, happy hour starts at 3 PM and goes until 7 PM. Take advantage of the select $6 cocktails, select $7 glasses of wine and 15% off all beers, ciders and meads. Stop in for weekend brunch for a plethora of boozy options including a rotating punch, herbed lemonade and sparkling St. Germain. (414 H St, NE; 202-450-3265)

A go-to for pre and post Nationals gameday festivities, swing by this waterfront bar starting at 11:30 AM and enjoy specialty cocktails and daily drink specials. (600 Water St, SW; 202-554-8396)

Dacha
Head to Shaw’s beer garden for happy hour Monday through Thursday starting at 4 PM for discounted singles ($5) and boots ($10) of select drafts. If you’re lucky enough to work summer hours or have Friday off, Dacha opens its doors at noon. (1600 7th St, NW; 202-350-9888)

Duke’s Grocery
You really can’t beat a happy hour that runs from noon - 7 PM. Get yourself over to Duke’s Grocery and hang out on the patio while enjoying $5 select beers, red and white wines. Weekend brunch runs from 10 AM - 3 PM with bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys for $16. (1513 17th St, NW; 202-733-5623)

Glen’s Garden Market
The casual neighborhood market also doubles as a bar. Get your grocery shopping done and reward yourself with $4 draft beers, available all day long. (Dupont Circle: 2001 S St, NW; 202-588-5698, Shaw: 1924 8th St, NW; 202-939-2839)

Orange Anchor

Come for weekend brunch 10 AM - 3 PM and get $10 bottomless pitchers of mimosas, bloody Marys, and orange crushes. (3050 K St, NW; 202-802-9990)
