Where to Drink With Your Dog in D.C.

by Lanna Nguyen on Aug 9, 2016 in Roundups

Summer weather means patio weather and only one thing can make drinking outside better: drinking outside with your pup. Luckily for dog-owners, there are plenty of bars with a friendly dog policy. Check out our list of where to take your pup for a drink in the DMV area.

Art and Soul
Take your pup to the restaurant located at The Liaison Capitol Hill hotel for happy hour on the patio. You’ll score discounted bites (Cheesy Smoky Pig Fries, Bacon Deviled Eggs, Pork Rinds and more), $6 draft beer, $8 select cocktails and $7 select wines, while your dog can enjoy treats from the Pooch Patio Menu like the Gravy Train (House Made Beef and Rice in Savory Gravy) or the Peanut-Banana Pupsicle. (415 New Jersey Ave, NW; 202-393-7777)

Bardo Brewpub
Dogs are always welcome at the massive outdoor beer garden… they even have a four-legged official mascot named - wait for it - BarDog. While your pup runs around the outdoor brewgarden, you can enjoy a large selection of popular craft beers including Summer Dremo, Graceland Imperial Stout, and Marion Berry Lambic. (1200 Bladensburg Road, NE; 762-233-7070)

Cantina Marina
The waterfront bar regularly partners with local shelters to host adoption events. When they’re not helping adoptable pups find a home, you can bring your dog to soak in the rays at the dock bar. Weekly drink specials include discounted Summer Shandy, Corona-ritas, and Dos Equis pints. (600 Water St, SW; 202-554-8396)

Denizens Brewing Company
The dog-friendly beer garden located at the brewery is a perfect spot to bring your four-legged friend over the weekend. Enjoy beer garden bites like Old Bay Chips, Braised Beef Sandwich, and Freedom Fries while sipping on craft beer produced onsite. (1115 East-West Hwy, Silver Spring; 301-557-9818)

Jackson 20
On Tuesday nights, May - October from 5 - 8 PM, bring your pup to the southern-inspired restaurant in Old Town’s Hotel Monaco. The patio is open for Yappy Hour with drink and food specials including discounted sliders, fried green tomatoes, and deviled eggs, and special treats for the dogs. (480 King St, Alexandria; 703-842-2790)

Right Proper Brewing Company
This Shaw brewpub has hosted events in support of the Washington Humane Society, and its patio is open to pups while you enjoy housemade brews. The outdoor seating is limited, so make sure you snag a table early. (624 T St, NW; 202-607-2337)
