Where to Drink on Thanksgiving 2016 in D.C.

by Lanna Nguyen on Nov 21, 2016 in Roundups

Whether you’re in need of a quick drink in preparation for spending the weekend with extended family members or are looking for a bar to hang out with out-of-town relatives, here’s where to drink this Thanksgiving weekend.

Celebrate Thanksgiving Eve at Bayou with a concert featuring The Radiographers. Abita Seasonal beers will be on special for $4 all night long from 10 PM - 1 AM. (2519 Pennsylvania Ave., NW; 202-223-6941)

Sip on Lincoln’s Thanksgiving specialty cocktail Wednesday and Thursday night only. Made with maple cured bacon bourbon, cranberry sours, egg white, cranberry bitters and a thyme garnish, the Rail Splitter is the perfect cocktail to sip while celebrating Thanksgiving. (1110 Vermont Ave., NW; 202-386-9200)

After last year’s smashing success, Miracle on 7th Street will be making its return on Black Friday. Enjoy specialty cocktails from the team behind Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency, and Eat the Rich against a winter wonderland backdrop. (1843 7th St, NW; 202-316-9396)

Get in the holiday spirit with beers at the Alexandria brewery’s tasting room. Hours will be extended in honor of Thanksgiving Eve. Pro tip: bring your growlers to fill up before you head home and enjoy Port City brews all holiday weekend long. (3950 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria; 703-797-2739)

Head to 14th Street for Provision’s Pre-Thanksgiving Eve Party; both floors will be open with a DJ on the second floor from 9 PM to close. (2100 14th St, NW; 202-827-4530)

U Street’s newest cocktail bar will extend its hours until 2 AM on Wednesday with its full menu of food and $7 cocktails available. Bonus: come back on Thanksgiving night at 10 PM to join in on the bar’s coat drive to benefit Martha’s Table. (928 U St, NW; 202-462-7232)

The Latin-Asian sushi bar will have special themed cocktails aptly named “Who’s Coming for Dinner?” (Wild Turkey Rye and cranberry) and “Maybe We Should Switch Seats (mezcal, fresh lime, champagne). Stick around until midnight, when all shots will be half price. (2204 14th St NW, 202-518-2222)
