Where to Ring in 2017 in D.C.

by Lanna Nguyen on Dec 28, 2016 in Roundups

With casino parties, pre-fixe dinners and all you can eat and drink soirees in DC, there’s an option on New Year’s Eve night for everyone. Here are our top picks:

Catch 15
Ring in the New Year with a masquerade dinner and party at Catch 15. The $59 ticket includes a 4-course dinner, champagne toast, party favors, a live DJ and dancing. (1518 K St, NW; 202-969-2863)

For a more intimate celebration, snag a ticket to Columbia Room’s five-course dinner with cocktail and wine pairing in the 14-person Tasting Room ($250 ticket). If you missed out on tickets but still want to ring in the New Year in style, head to the Spirits Library for cocktails, music, hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast ($125 ticket). (124 Blagden Alley, NW; 202-316-9396)

Celebrate the start of 2017 with a trip down memory lane. The retro-themed nightclub will be hosting a Back to the Future-themed Gala complete with multiple floors of music hits from the 80’s/90’s/00’s, themed drinks and throwback games. Tickets are $30 (but will increase as the event date draws nearer). (1219 Connecticut Ave, NW; 202-853-3498)

Drawing inspiration from future-forward movies and shows (think The Jetsons, The Fifth Element, and Logan’s Run) the speakeasy-esque bar will host a celebration looking to “The Future” with open bars, small bites, a midnight champagne toast, burlesque star Reverend Valentine and photo booths (aka time machines). Guests are encouraged to dress in futuristic costume. Tickets are $130. (2009 14th St, NW; 202-232-2156)

Ring in 2017 at Tim Ma’s Chinese-French concept restaurant with an “EPIC Prince jam.” Don your funkiest and most festive attire and enjoy an open bar, champagne tower, midnight toast, and sample bites from the new Ten Tigers Parlour menu. 9 PM - 1 AM, tickets are $120. (1924 8th St, NW; 202-525-2383)

This H Street hot spot will once again host a New Year’s eve bash - the 2017 installment will feature an all you can eat (including pork buns, wok-fried noodles, and fried chicken) all you can drink party with a champagne and pizza toast at midnight. 9 PM - 2 AM; tickets are $100. (1351 H St, NE; 202-838-9972)

The cocktail bar on 14th Street will celebrate the New Year with complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres, a midnight toast, NYE hats, noisemakers and other party favors, and music from DJ Gutierrez. There is no cover charge but registration is requested. (2017 14th St, NW; 202-450-5757)

The Latin-inspired sushi bar will host a New Year’s Eve party in honor of the upcoming “Year of the Rooster.” Guests will enjoy three complimentary drinks and music from DJ Jusspin. Tickets are $40. Two dinner seatings are also available prior to the soiree. (2204 14th St, NW; 202-518-2222)

Fried chicken and champagne? Yes, please. The laid-back cocktail bar on U Street will be offering special fried chicken and champagne packages to ring in the new year. Take part in the “Champagne Circus” with offerings ranging from glasses of champagne to bottles of Krug Grand Cuvee and a bucket of fried chicken. Bonus: breakfast will be served from 12:30 AM - 4 AM. (928 U St, NW; 202-462-7232)

On New Year’s Eve, party the night away at The Riggsby’s Casino Royale celebration. Enjoy an open bar with specialty cocktails (9 PM - 1 AM), hors d’oeuvres like shrimp rolls, sliders, cheese and charcuterie (9 PM - midnight), a champagne toast at midnight and casino games including roulette, craps, blackjack, poker and slots. At the end of the night, casino chips can be traded in to enter raffle prizes including restaurant gift cards and hotel room stays. (1731 New Hampshire Ave, NW; 202-787-1500)
