Where to Watch the 89th Academy Awards in D.C.

As Jimmy Kimmel and all of Hollywood takes to the red carpet on Sunday evening, here’s where you need to be to catch all of the Oscars action.

Arlington Cinema ‘N’ Drafthouse
This old-school theater will be celebrating the Academy Awards by hosting the DC Film Society’s 25th Annual Party. Throughout the night there will be trivia contests, “Predict the Winner” contest, giveaways, and a silent auction. 7 PM; Tickets are $20. (2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington; 703-486-2345)

Boqueria
The Spanish tapas restaurant will be broadcasting the Oscars live at their viewing party. Enjoy unlimited tapas and drinks as you watch the Academy Awards - menu highlights include Albondigas, Patatas Bravas and Churros Con Chocolate. $49 per person; the viewing party begins at 8:30 PM. Commissary
Head to the Sixth Annual Oscar Viewing Party at Commissary for daylong festivities beginning with brunch and Meryl Streep movies at 8 AM - there will be themed cocktails on hand including the Florence Foster, Jenkins Collins and Death Becomes a Corpse Reviver. Stick around for post-brunch fun starting at 4 PM with the Red Carpet viewing party as Commissary will be transformed into the set of La La Land. Enjoy happy hour until 7 PM - once the awards begin, guests will be able to enjoy La La Land themed menu items. (1443 P St, NW; 202-299-0018)
 
Driftwood Kitchen
The rustic, seasonal restaurant on H Street will be hosting a viewing party with drink specials including $8 Manhattans and Martinis, $5 house wine and champagne, and $20 bottles of champagne. Pro tip: come with a group of six or more friends and you’ll score a complimentary bottle of champagne. The viewing party begins at 7 PM. (400 H St, NE; 202-803-2615)

French Embassy Oscars Party
Get fancy and head to the French Embassy for an Oscars Party complete with French wine, Parisian desserts, and live jazz. Post-reception, head to the auditorium to watch all of the Oscars action until 10:30 PM. Tickets are $25. (4101 Reservoir Rd, NW)

The St. Gregory Hotel
In honor of Hollywood’s biggest night, The St. Gregory Hotel will have the Academy Awards live on large projector screens in the ballroom where guests can sip on specialty cocktails and enjoy hors d’oeuvres while watching all of the action unfold on the red carpet. A live jazz band will be on hand and guests have the opportunity to win door prizes for “best dressed.” Attendees who stay the evening will receive 20% off a luxury suite via the hotel’s Suite Sunday Savings.
