Cold Brew Hard Coffee is Coming to Stores in May
The combination of alcohol and caffeine is nothing new, with drinks like Spanish Coffee, Red Bull and Vodka, or pre-2010 Four Loko. But soon you’ll be able to enjoy cold brew coffee with the alcohol percentage of a strong beer with Bad Larry’s Cold Hard Coffee.
Bad Larry’s is a cold press Brazilian bean coffee with a medium roast, lightly sweetened, and then soaked in grain alcohol for 16 hours to bring it up to a hearty 6% alcohol content and canned with nitrogen. The brew, which will be priced at $10 for a 4-pack, won’t be released until May, and even then it will remain local to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Luckily, its developers are planning on distributing it to a larger market in the following months, Food & Wine reports. It will be the first alcoholic cold brew coffee on the market, so until then, you’re just going to have to booze up your coffee the old fashioned way: by pouring whiskey into it.
