Bourbon Steak
Head bartender Torrence Swain recently unveiled new springtime cocktails, perfect for sipping on the patio with the impending warm weather. In honor of the Disney adaptation currently out in theaters, City Perch in Bethesda is offering two special drinks: Beauty (Vodka, Apricot Brandy, Orange Juice, Passion Fruit Puree, topped with Champagne) and Beast (Bourbon, Pom Juice, Simple Syrup, Rose Water, topped with Prosecco). From the seasonal restaurant and bar located on H Street, try the Little Wild Thing, a martini made from locally sourced ingredients including gin from District Distilling Company, Chrysanthemum from Little Wild Things Farm (a DC commercial urban farm), house made Vermouth, and a Grapefruit Twist. New, seasonal cocktails at District Commons include a refreshing spin on the DC classic: the Plum Rickey incorporates Averell Damson Gin, fresh Lemon and Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Lavender Bitters, and Soda while the Panhandle Punch packs tropical flavors with a blend of Aged, Spiced and Dark Rums, Tropical Juices, Orange Bitters, Jack Rudy Small Batch Grenadine, and Chandon Brut Rosé. Perfect for the change in season, Marcel's will offer a trio of cocktails as part of it's "Pastel Palette" with each drink reflective of springtime blooms and hues. The Pink Lady (pink) features Nolet's Gin with Calvados, Lemon Juice, Housemade Grenadine, and Simple Syrup; the Arugula Martini (green) is made with Baby Arugula, Nolet's Gin, Lime Juice, Agave Nectar, St. Germaine, Lemon, Lime and Black Pepper; while the Yellow Bird (yellow) combines Don Julio Tequila, Domaine Canton, Yellow Chartreuse, and Ginger Lemon Juice. The 14th St. cocktail bar just released its Spring lineup of cocktails which includes the Orange Crush (Evan Williams Bourbon, Cocchi Americano, Montenegro Amaro, Lemon, Honey, Egg White), the Sherry Blossom (Brugal Anejo Rum, punt E Mes, PX Sherry, Oloroso Sherry, Bitters), Anise + Easter Egg (Gin, Basil, Green Chartreuse, Lime, Anise, Egg White) among others.
