New Bars to Look Forward to This Spring in D.C.

by Lanna Nguyen on Apr 10, 2017 in Roundups

DC’s ever-changing food scene is adding plenty of new bars and restaurants this spring. Check out these five new spots opening soon!

All Purpose Pizzeria
The pizza-centric restaurant will open its second location at Dock 79 - by Nationals Stadium. In addition to serving up similar items from its Shaw location, diners can expect a larger beer selection, a patio area and rooftop bar. Expected to open this summer. (79 Potomac Ave, SE)

Continental Beer Garden
There’s no better way to welcome the warmer weather than sitting on a patio with a cold beverage in hand. Enter: Continental Beer Garden - featuring a large outdoor area with picnic tables, garden games, and plenty of seating. Enjoy a selection of local brews from Port City and Lost Rhino as well as German-style beers, sausage platters, and large pretzels. Expected to open in April. (1901 N. Fort Myer Dr, Arlington)

The LINE DC
Featuring a combined project from high profile locals chefs Erik Bruner-Yang and Spike Gjerde, when the 110-year old historic church finishes its transformation into a hotel, drinking and dining options will be plentiful. Expect multiple projects from both chefs including Chesapeake/Southern inspired cuisine (A Rake’s Progress) and a coffee house (The Cup We All Race 4) from Gjerde and Asian-style dishes (Brothers and Sisters; Spoken English) from Bruner-Yang. Expected to open in May. (1770 Euclid St, NW; 202-588-0525)

The Salt Line
From Chef Kyle Bailey (Sixth Engine) comes the Capitol Riverfront eatery focused on seafood inspired by New England and the Chesapeake Bay regions - diners can also expect smoked and cured fish, local craft beers and lots of outdoor seating. Expected to open this spring. (79 Potomac Ave, SE)

Waterfront Rosé Garden at Whaley’s
Not technically a new establishment opening this spring, but the popular raw bar and seafood restaurant at Navy Yard will open a Rosé Garden in April. Sip on 10 different rosés, frozen drinks, and other beverages which can be paired with a special menu of complementing snacks from Chef Daniel Perron. (301 Water Street, SE; 202-484-8800)
