by Lanna Nguyen on Aug 29, 2017 in Roundups

Bid farewell to summer with these upcoming events; whether you prefer to feast on crabs, drink endless samples of beer, or indulge in a bottomless brunch we’ve got plenty of options for celebrating the long holiday weekend.

Crabfest at City Tap Penn Quarter
Nothing says summertime like a crab fest - end the 2017 season with unlimited crabs and accompanying sides (like hush puppies and jambalaya rice) at City Tap House’s Third Annual Labor Day Crabfest. Oskar Blues Brewery will be joining in on the festivities, offering 19oz cans of Dale’s Pale Ale and Mama’s Little Yella Pils for $8 a pop. The best part? City Tap House will be decking out it’s patio with sand, beach balls and palm trees so you can celebrate beach-party style, complete with frozen drinks and live music. $50, 11 AM - 3 PM. (901 9th St, NW; 202-733-5333)

DC Harvest Brunch
In this city, an extra long holiday weekend means an extra opportunity to indulge in bottomless brunch and fresh, seasonal fare. Head to H Street and nosh on appetizers like Smoked Salmon and Chive Doughnuts and Crispy Squash Blossoms before moving on to main dishes including Lemon Blueberry Baked Brioche French Toast, Old Bay Fried Turkey Breast Sandwich, and  Shrimp and Grits. Tack on bottomless mimosas for $20 or bottomless Bloody Marys for $25. (517 H St. NE; 202-629-3296)

Drink the World BeerFest
Who says you need to leave town in order to experience the world? Stay in DC for the long weekend and travel the globe via international beers at Drink The World - DC’s largest international beer festival. Enjoy unlimited samples of specialty craft beers, wines and ciders from over 30 countries in addition to raffles, contests, bites from local and international food trucks and live music. Choose from two sessions; tickets starting at $39. (1299 Half Street, SE)

Harbor Dome
Don’t miss your final chance to check out National Harbor’s Summer Snow Globe. Cool off from the last days of the summer with refreshing cocktails and real falling snow and live music from 90’s tribute bands. Tickets are $10. (National Harbor, Intersection of Waterfront St. and National Plaza)

POV Labor Day Party
Don your best summer hats and sundresses and head to the POV at the W Hotel for the rooftop bar’s 4th Annual Labor Day Party. Guests are encouraged to wear their best Summer Polo attire for the party featuring music from DJ Heather Femia. Sept. 4; Tickets starting at $20. (515 15th St, NW)

Hawthorne
Party it up at Hawthorne’s Labor Day celebration with drink specials on the rooftop ($5 16oz Bud Lights, $5 Fireball shots, and $7 Tito’s mixed drinks) with the festivities making it’s way downstairs as the night progresses with music from DJ Dior. Bottomless brunch will be available Saturday and Sunday. (1336 U St. NW; 202-853-9194)
