Sing Your Heart Out at These D.C. Karaoke Bars

Whether you’re looking for a fun night out with friends or a place to practice for your audition with The Voice, here are our picks for where to get your karaoke on.

Brass Monkey
The late night bar in Adams Morgan offers weekend karaoke in the basement area - the dark, usually loud bar (mixed in with the fact that most everyone present is probably drunk) makes for the perfect environment for those who may be less comfortable singing in public. (2317 18th St, NW; 202-265-6665)

Hill Country
The popular live band karaoke draws novice and semi-professional singers alike each Wednesday night. The Rock n Twang karaoke begins at 8:30 - although if you're hoping to get on the list, we recommend arriving at least an hour prior. Get your fill of texas-style barbecue on the main floor and then head to the downstairs Boot Bar to spectate or take part in the singing festivities. (410 7th St, NW; 202-556-2050)

Muzette
Who knew Korean food and karaoke go hand in hand? At the Adams Morgan nosh on bibimbap, bulgogi, and other traditional dishes and then belt it out on stage (or in a private room). The bar boasts over 70,000 song choices in seven languages and counting - you can rest assured there’s a song for everyone. Karaoke available Tuesday through Sunday. (2305 18th St, NW; 202-758-2971)

Recessions
The divey downtown bar is a favorite spot for the after-work crowd; happy hour runs from 5 - 8 PM on weekdays and from Monday -Thursday, transitions straight into karaoke (8 PM - close) - funny how happy hour with your colleagues all of a sudden turns to an all night karaoke session. (1823 L Street, NW; 202-296-6686)

Sticky Rice
The H Street sushi spot operates the SingSing Karaoke Place - two full service private karaoke rooms with an extensive list of songs. Book your room and order bites and sips from the full Sticky RIce’s full menu - because nothing goes better with sushi and tots than karaoke. (1222 H St, NE; 202-397-1770)

Wok ‘n Roll
A go-to spot for karaoke enthusiasts, rally together a group of friends, book a room and spend the next few hours serenading your buddies. The Chinatown restaurant offers a number of different size rooms, perfect for accommodating groups of varying numbers. Be sure to check the roster of songs online - the list is updated regularly. (604 H St, NW; 202-450-4702)
