D.C. Fall Cocktail Week is Back for its Fifth Year, November 13-19

by Lanna Nguyen on Nov 6, 2017 in Roundups

DC’s most “spirited” week returns with cocktails from 40 of the DMV’s top restaurants and bars. Presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), the fifth annual DC Cocktail Week runs from Monday, November 13 - Sunday, November 19 with specialty drinks and cocktail pairings with complementing bites. Local distilleries participating include Belle Isle, Capitoline Vermouth, Cirrus Vodka, Green Hat Gin, KO Distilling, MurLarkey Distilled Spirits, Republic Restoratives Distillery, Virginia Distillery Co., and Vitae Spirits.

There’s no better time to explore new bars and re-discover old favorites while taking in the best of DC’s mixology scene. Here are a few pairings you won’t want to miss.

China Chilcano
Jose Andres’ Peruvian and Chifa inspired restaurant will offer a Maracuya Sour (Machu Pisco, rocoto macerado, passion fruit puree, egg white, Amargo Chuncho bitters) paired with Chicken Anticucho - a chicken thigh skewer, for $12. (418 7th St, NW; 202-783-0941)

Head to Cedric Maupillier’s French-American cafe for a perfectly fall cocktail: A Rose by Any Other Name - made with Capitoline Rose Vermouth, Cherry Herring and China China Bigellet Amer, the seasonal sipper will be paired with an equally autumnal dish: Roasted Cauliflower Blanc-Manager with pomegranate, mint and za’atar for $18. (801 O St, NW; 202-525-2870)

The Greek small-plates restaurant on 14th Street will have a cocktail billed as a fall interpretation on a traditional Pimms Cup: Redemption Rye, Domaine de Canton, Pimms, Allspice Dram, Sherry, Angostura Bitters, lemon and cucumber. The refreshing cocktail will be offered alongside the Bifteki - a spiced beef and lamb dish served over spetsofai, labne and grilled flatbread. $12 for the pairing. (2201 14th St, NW; 202-234-5000)

The Peruvian spot located near Dupont Circle will have a fall-inspired Peruvian cocktail - the Roasted Beet & Rosemary Chilcano. A variation of the traditional chilcano, the cocktail is made with fresh rosemary and roasted beet house-infused pisco, lime juice, simple syrup and ginger beer. Get it with the yucca fries and huancaina sauce for $15. (1633 P St, NW; 202-733-3170)

The H Street spot’s specialty libation will incorporate Republic Restoratives Apple Brandy and Rum Barrel Borough Bourbon, Cocchi Americano and Sfumato. The USS Republic will be paired with a smoked pork shoulder croquette and apple honey-mustard for $16. (1320 H St, NE; 202-750-6529)
