Where to Celebrate Valentine's Day 2018 in D.C.

Whether you’re celebrating with friends or looking for a romantic night out with your special someone, here’s our intensive guide on how to celebrate Valentine’s Day in DC.

The downtown Italian restaurant will offer a heart-themed cooking class to get couples into the Valentine's Day spirit. On February 11, join Chef Luigi as he teaches guests how to whip up the following dishes: a Sweet Heart Salad with fennel, celery, romaine hearts and black truffle slices; Ravioli Hearts made with caciocavallo cheese filling and fresh tomato and basil salsa; and end the meal on a sweet note with the My Heart Says Chocolate - a decadent Italian-style chocolate mousse. $140 per couple, 6 PM - 11 PM. (2013 I St, NW; 202-223-3600)

Treat your special someone (or yourself) to the Valentine’s Day mini box - available only on February 14. Snag a mix of Chocolate Orange Blossom, Raspberry Rose, Creme Brulee, Passion Fruit Streusel and Coffee Pretzel for $22. (1308 G St, NW; 202-809-5565)

Indulge in a four-course prix fixe menu with dishes like Pan-Seared Foie Gras, Fluke Crudo, Day Boat Scallops, Pan-Seared Monkfish and Warm Cherry Cobbler with vanilla ice cream. $125 per person. (1201 24th St, NW; 202-419-6755)

Head to the Four Seasons restaurant for the aptly named “Love Potion No. 9” 3-course dessert tasting and cocktail pairing. Head bartender Torrence Swain will take guests through the steps of how to mix up his drinks while Pastry Chef Yudith Bustos will present sweet treats to pair with the sippers. (2800 Pennsylvania Ave, NW; 202-944-2026)

Pay it forward on Valentine’s Day (and every day of February) at the Shaw bakery - purchase any treat from Buttercream Bakeshop, write a note, and gift it to another customer as a sweet treat. The pay-it-forward treats will be discounted by 15% and is part of the bakery’s #RememberToBeKind campaign. (1250 9th St, NW; 202-735-0102)

For an intimate cocktail experience, head to Hank’s for a one-night only journey to Le Cafe de Nuit. Enjoy live music and sip on the L’Espresso Martini with Grey Goose, Qualia Espresso, Don Ciccio & Figli, and Fleur De Sel - when the night ends, you’ll take away an Espresso Martini kit to recreate the romantic drink at home. February 14, 7 - 11 PM. (819 Upshur St, NW; 202-290-1808)

The Eastern Market Spanish restaurant will offer a six-course chef’s tasting menu on Valentine’s Day featuring items such as Tuna Crudo, Shrimp and Scallop Egg Pasta, and Passion Fruit Stuffed Panna Cotta. $80 per person or $130 with wine pairings. (660 Pennsylvania Ave, SE; 202-930-6955)

Celebrate the holiday with girlfriends at Pennsylvania 6’s Galentine’s Brunch the weekend leading up to Valentine’s Day; guests will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and a shareable dessert - just mention “Galentine’s Brunch” when you make your reservation. On the actual holiday, enjoy a $50 three course dinner when the restaurant will take you back to your middle school days complete with a balloon arch, spiked punch and throwback tunes. (1350 Eye St, NW; 202-796-1600)

The Dupont location will host a “Mix Tapes and Mix Taps” featuring thirteen drafts from thirteen different breweries - each brewery will also select a song to go with their draft offering. The playlist will be available on Spotify (hint: expect some Led Zeppelin, Beastie Boys, and Robin Gibb). (2003 P St, NW; 202-223-1245)

Put your cooking and teamwork skills to the test at the St. Regis Hotel’s couples souffle class. Executive Pastry Chef Thierry Delourneaux will lead the class which includes champagne tastings, passed hors d’oeuvres and a special gift. February 10, $155 per couple. (923 16th St, NW; 202-638-2626)

Heat things up and get tropical at Tico on Valentine’s Day - eat your way through a seven course Caribbean-inspired tasting menu with dishes including Mojito Oysters, Plantain Gnocchi with Lobster and Garlic Butter, Sea Urchin Mac and Cheese and a Tropical Colada Foster. $75 per person. (1926 14th St, NW; 202-319-1400)

Forget about the boys and celebrate Galentine’s at the Glover Park bar - from 5 - 7 PM enjoy a special ladies night happy hour with half-price bottles of wine. February 13. (2340 Wisconsin Ave, NW; 202-333-5640)

Lovers, singletons and everyone in between can party it up at the W’s Heartbreak Hotel party at POV featuring live music from Johnny Graham and the Groove, Allison Balanc, and DJ Oz. February 16, $12 speciality cocktails. (515 15th St, NW; 202-661-2400)
