Where to Celebrate Mardi Gras 2018 in D.C.

Let the good times roll - partake in all of the Mardi Gras revelry at these bars and over the top parties.
 
Get your all inclusive tickets to the second annual Mardi Gras Block Party on Fat Tuesday for Southern-inspired street food and cocktails from over 20 of the DMV’s top chefs and mixologists. Other event highlights include live music from rotating bands and contests for best costume and best Hurricane from the mixologists. Tickets are $65 - Union Market, February 13; 6 -11 PM.
 
The New Orleans-style fish house will offer a $5 Mardi Gras Street Food Menu - items include Alligator Fritters, Popcorn Shrimp, Crawfish Bread and Muffulettas - available all day on February 13. (901 New York Ave, NW; 202-408-8848)
 
On Fat Tuesday, enjoy $8 Sazeracs all night long and sip on a new frozen cocktail - The Tropical Storm Warning made with rum, mezcal, passionfruit, pineapple, lime, and campari - Barrel’s play on the classic Hurricane. (613 Pennsylvania Ave, SE; 202-543-3622)
 
On February 13, both locations will have Abita on draft for $7 and Hurricanes for $10 - enjoy them with food specials like jambalaya and chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. Multiple locations.
 
Head to David Guas’ New Orleans bakery before the annual Clarendon Mardi Gras Parade on February 13 and pick up $5 NOLA-Style specials including N’awlins cocktails, Abita drafts, and Cajun dishes including Red Beans & Rice and Jambalaya. (1515 N Courthouse Rd, Arlington; 703-243-2410)
 
On Tuesday, enjoy a special dinner menu with items highlighting local distillery, One Eight Distilling. Dine on Louisiana cuisine including Crispy Frog Legs, Etouffee and Bananas Foster - paired with a French 75 and Sazerac made with Ivy City Distillery’s spirits. $35 per person. Mardi Gras Food Truck
Be on the lookout for a Louisiana-wrapped food truck at Franklin Square from 11 AM - 2 PM for King Cake, a Mardi Gras atmosphere complete with music, beads and other giveaways and register for a chance to win a trip for two to Louisiana. February 13.
 
Sip on Hurricane cocktails, on special for $6 all day long in honor of Fat Tuesday. (1350 Eye ST, NW; 202-796-1600)
 
For a Mexican twist on Mardi Gras, the Petworth taqueria will offer a Red Beans & RIce empanada and a Jambalaya empanada. Both are available for $3.85 from 4 PM to close on February 13. (821 Upshur St, NW; 202-723-0200)
