Port City Brewing at Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine, Jan 14
Start your Saturday night right on January 14, when Port City Brewing visits the Park Hyatt from 5:30–7 PM. One of the first beer-centric events in the Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine series (other options that day are a Blue Duck Tavern kitchen tour and a winter tea sampling), the tasting session will take place at a large communal table The Lounge.
For $45 per person, brewmaster Jonathan Reeves will lead you through all four of the Alexandria brewery’s flagship labels, including Monumental IPA, Essential Pale Ale, Optimal Wit and Porter, as well as the very last case of winter seasonal Tidings Ale. Each beer will be served with house-made winter jar conserves in pairings by chef de cuisine John Melfi, highlighting each brew’s unique flavors.
Brewery founder Bill Butcher, who developed a relationship with the Park Hyatt via former Blue Duck Tavern chef Brian McBride, will also be at the tasting, bringing samples of several of the raw ingredients that are the mainstay of his operation, including malted barley, hops and different brewing spices. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now, via phone (202-419-6768) or email.
