Cork Market Launches Fried Chicken & Champagne Monthly Dinners
Saving that bottle of Champagne for the next super-special event? Don’t do it, say Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, resident wine gurus and proprietors of Logan Circle’s Cork Market & Tasting Room, because sparkling wine is too enjoyable to relegate to occasional drinking. To drive home the point, they’re launching a weekly dinner series that pairs the downhome dish of fried chicken with glasses of bubbly.
Launching this weekend on May 6 and continuing every Sunday thereafter, couplets of guests can enjoy a special meal for two, which includes half a crispy bird, seasonal sides (think biscuits and asparagus salad) and two glasses of sparkling wine for just $75 total. Granted, this is no ordinary chicken, as chef Kristin Hutter’s garlic and herb-marinated version was named one of the top 10 fried chickens in the country by Bon Appetit. The juicy crunch is sure to be complemented by the bright pop of Champagne or other sparklers.
To partake in the Sunday supper, call ahead at least 48 hours in advance and reserve a seat at the upstairs tasting room from 6–8 PM.
