901 Restaurant & Bar Unveils New Cocktail Specials
901 Restaurant and Bar opened its doors in Penn Quarter last year, but the venue is now starting to amp up its cocktail offerings to appeal to Chinatown’s young professional set. The chic resto-lounge is just part of the empire owned by Harvard MBA David von Storch, whose company Urban Adventures also includes a gym chain (Vida), salon chain (Bang) and corresponding spas (Aura) in addition to Vida’s rooftop pool-slash-bar, the Penthouse Pool Club, and three locations of Capitol City Brewing Company.
901 fits right into the mix; it’s a high-gloss, all-American lounge with an urban edge but decidedly upscale finish. Just far enough away from Metro Center and Gallery Place that it probably doesn’t get the street traffic that can overburden some other bars in the area — for now at least. In recent weeks, the establishment has rolled out a series of new cocktail specials.
Starting Friday, guests can sip a series of Olympic-themed cocktails: Gold (Bushmills Irish whiskey, OJ, simple syrup and lemon juice), Silver (gin, St. Germaine, lime juice and soda) and, of course, Bronze (vodka, orange and apple juices, splash of cranberry).
On Saturday, before J.Lo and Enrique take the Verizon Center, 901 will also be hosting “J. Lo Hour” from 5–7 PM, during which craft beers will be $5 and speciality cocktails go for $10.
Trying to maintain that Olympian figure? Don’t worry — Von Storch has your well-toned back: the regular cocktail menu features the Vida Fit Margarita, made with (naturally) Vida Tequila Blanco, fresh sour mix and squeezed lime juice, as well as two new organic martinis: the 901 Melon Martini and the Bang Key Lime Martini. In addition to regular happy hour specials available Monday through Thursday, 4–7 PM, the same deals on food and beverages are also now available late night from 9 PM–close. Because it's never too late to save money or calories.
