Rosa Mexicano Fall Harvest Dinner with Jonathan Waxman, October 24
The Chevy Chase outpost of Rosa Mexicano is hosting NYC’s Jonathan Waxman for a fall harvest dinner on October 24, and it looks like a fiesta not to be missed. Though the Top Chef Masters alum is known for Italian-inspired food and drink at Barbuto, he hails from El Cerrito, California, and grew up surrounded by the authentic cuisine of Mexico.
Picnic tables will be the setting for the big bash on Wednesday, which will feature several fall-spiced cocktails made with local ingredients. Special drinks on offer for the night include the Otoño Rosado (pink fall), made with Herradura Reposado, Pedro Ximenez sherry, fresh lemon, cinnamon and muddled strawberries and the La Abejita (the little bee) with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, chipotle-infused local honey, crème de cacao, mezcal and fresh lemon.
Drinks are pay as you go, but the entire rest of the meal is yours for a total of $45. That brings four courses of bites like guacamole with toasted hazelnuts, wild mushroom and chorizo salad and grilled lobster and scallop tacos (!) with papaya and pumpkin seeds. The fun begins at 6:30 PM with drinks and snacks. Tickets are available for pre-purchase online here.
