Mayfair & Pine Thibaut-Janisson Winery Wine Dinner, December 7
Taste your way through six different wines produced at Charlottesville’s Thibaut-Janisson Winery at Mayfair & Pine, an American gastropub owned by executive chef Emily Sprissler from the second season of Top Chef. The Virginia wines and all-American menu reflect Sprissler’s motto: “America is Our Local” — one that she’ll continue to promote with Americana wine dinners at her Glover Park establishment.
Winemakers Pamela and Claude Thibaut will be on hand along with Champagne producer Manuel Janisson to lead guests through selections paired with Sprissler’s seasonal tasting menu, which includes pumpkin bisque, tomato goat cheese Napoleon, samosa pie, lobster bearnaise, braised short ribs and chocolate pear tart.
You’ll enjoy three glasses each of vino (Thibaut-Janisson Virginia Fizz Blanc de Blancs NV, Thibaut-Janisson Cuvee d'etat 2008, Thibaut-Janisson Blanc de Chardonnay NV) and bubbly (Janisson et Fils Tradition Brut NV, Francois de Rozay Brut NV, Champagne, Janisson et Fils Brut Rose NV, Champagne), after which you’ll also have the opportunity to make purchases from a World of Wines representative on-site.
