Vive La France: D.C. Celebrates Bastille Day
If you’re still riding high from last weekend’s Fourth of July festivities, no need to put away your red, white and blue just yet—this weekend brings celebrations commemorating Bastille Day, the storming of the Bastille that ushered in the French revolution on July 14, 1789. One should never turn down the chance to drink for freedom, so check out our roundup of the best places to toast “La Fête Nationale” in D.C.
L'Enfant Cafe & Bar: On July 12, from 3 - 11 PM, this French cafe in Adams Morgan will throw its famous annual Bastille Day Street Bash which closes down a portion of 18th St for the French Maid Relay as well as a beer garden, can-can dancers and their house specialty cognac cocktails, like the Canton Royal, with Domaine de Canton Ginger Cognac, Champagne, and lemon juice. The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown: Stop by the swank Urban Garden at the Georgetown Ritz on July 13 to celebrate in style. Le Chat Noir: This charming French bistro in Friendship Heights recently opened a new sunlit wine lounge inspired by Art Nouveau and vintage winemaking culture.
