Soak up the Sun at These Late Summer Food and Drink Festivals

Summer will be gone before we know it. That means you need to take advantage of all the food and drink festivals DC has to offer before the season ends. From oysters to zoo animals to unlimited crabs, oh my...we’ve got you covered with these upcoming festivals.

July 25
Robert Wiedmaier’s Belgian style brasserie will be hosting an all you can eat oyster fest. From 12–4 PM, you’ll get all the Warshore oysters you can handle, as well as Etoile sparkling Rose ($10/glass) and Schofferhofer beer ($5). Tickets are $35. (1101 K St., NW; 202-408-1717)

If you are of legal drinking age, then you’ve probably made it out to one of Drink the District’s many beer festivals. At the 4th Annual Beer Fest, you’ll find unlimited tastings of over 75 beers, outdoor lawn games, a lineup of local food trucks, and live music. Tickets $35 pre-sale and $50 regular price. (500 New York Ave., NW)

August 1
In conjunction with Midcity Dog Days, Studio Theatre is unveiling Taste of Studio, a new fundraising event where attendees will have the opportunity to peruse costumes, props, and set pieces used throughout the season while enjoying sips and bites from neighborhood restaurants and bars. The summer benefit event will also feature a Beer Garden as well as a VIP Mixology Suite where the best of 14th Street's bartenders will be mixing up all of their signature cocktails. (1501 14th St., NW; 202-332-3300)

August 9–16
A celebration of beer and brewing in the nation’s capital, DC Beer Week is an annual event that has grown its program over the past few years to include tastings, dinners, educational seminars, and much more. During the week-long festival, beer aficionados and novices alike can take part in the more than 100 separate events. (Multiple events in multiple locations)

August 15
Get unlimited beer tastings of over 70 regional craft beers as well as wines and ciders at Capital Brewfest. If you’re the kind of person who likes to have options, this beer fest is for you. Choose from three different sessions ranging from noon to night time and since it’s hosted at Dock 5, you’ll also have the option of hanging out indoors with air conditioning or braving the heat outside and enjoying the sunshine. (1309 5th St., NE)

August 22
If you live in the DMV area and haven’t gone to a crab festival at some point in your life, you’re missing a piece of your soul. Head to National Harbor for the 6th Annual Crab and Beer Festival where tickets will get you unlimited blue crabs and over 50 different craft beers. There will be over 60,000 crabs on hand – side note: 59,999 of those have already been reserved for us. (300 Waterfront St.; National Harbor, MD)

September 12
DC's biggest (and most fun to pronounce) beer festival is back for its fourth year. Enjoy over 300 different craft beers and ciders including some rare ales and recent small batch releases. Ticket prices range from General Admission for $10 to the Kraken VIP ticket for $65 which gets you one and a half hours of access to all of the beers, 30 food and drink tickets, and a commemorative mug. Proceeds from ticket sales will support Arcadia, a nonprofit focused on creating a sustainable local food system in the DMV. (The Yards, First and N Sts., SE)
