Where to Go for Mother's Day in D.C.

by Lanna Nguyen on Apr 29, 2016 in Roundups

Whether it’s a bottomless brunch, fancy dinner or an evening of cocktails, treat your mom to a delicious outing on her day. Here’s where to celebrate Mother’s Day in DC.

Enjoy a three-course prix fixe Mother’s Day menu featuring appetizers like Crispy Kale Chat and Chicken Tikka Chat alongside entrees including Chicken Tikka Lababdar and Paneer Palak. Choose from three desserts: Date & Chocolate Toffee Pudding, Berry Shrikhand, or Mango Sorbet. (815 Connecticut Ave, NW; 202-659-3727)

The Gibson
Okay, so a speakeasy is not typically a go-to spot for Mother’s Day festivities, but tucked in the back of The Gibson is an awesome patio with a brand new spring cocktail menu. Take your mom out for a drink or two and enjoy the interesting and delicious concoctions, including The Resolve with Kappa Pisco, Kale Syrup, Lemon, Lavender and Bitters. (2009 14th St, NW; 202-232-2156)

The Hamilton
For a unique brunch experience, take your mom to Hamilton Live for Gospel Brunch. Enjoy music by The Gospel Persuaders with an all-you-can-eat buffet and classic Southern dishes and your choice of one bloody mary or mimosa for $45. (600 14th St, NW; 202-787-1000)

Lupo Verde
The 14th Street restaurant will be adding three Italian specials to its brunch menu on Mother’s Day: Lasagna Primavera, Branzino ai Sapori del Sud (sea bass with potatoes, olives, capers, raisins and mint) and Coppa Paradiso (with zabaione cream, raspberry, chocolate and almonds Amaretti). (1401 T St, NW; 202-827-4752)

RIchard Sandoval Restaurants
All of Richard Sandoval’s DC area restaurants will honor all Moms with free dinner on Mother’s Day. This deal will be available exclusively during dinner service with the purchase of another large plate or entree. Participating restaurants include El Centro D.F., El Centro D.F. Georgetown, La Sandia, Masa 14 and Zengo.

Sushiko
In honor of Mother’s Day, Sushiko will be be adding specials to their a la carte menu. These include Hotate Midori (seared sea scallop served with dash cilantro puree, pickled cucumber and micro greens), Namafu Eggplant Yaki (grilled eggplant with wheat gluten served with lemon miso, toasted sesame and micro cilantro), Kumamoto Oysters Two Ways, and Tuna Seven Ways. (5455 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase; 301-961-1644)
