Thursday, December 22

Joe Strummer Night

What: Special cocktail and music of the Clash all night long
Where: Passenger (1021 7th St., NW)
When: 5 PM–1:30 AM, Thursday, December 22
Price: PAYG

Commemorate the anniversary of Joe Strummer’s death with a special cocktail paying tribute to the Clash guitarist. The Strummer is made with Scotch, lemon peel, ginger beer and absinthe, to honor the “Prince of Punk Rock.”

Friday, December 23

Holiday Duck Dinner at the Source

What: Peking duck dinner
Where: The Source (575 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W.)
When: All evening, Friday, December 22
Price: $49

Although drinks are a la carte, there are so many that would perfectly complement the Peking duck, assorted sides and a 15-layer carrot cake for dessert at this Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the Newseum.

Saturday, December 24

Falafel Frenzy Fundraiser

What: Christmas Eve party and fundraiser
Where: Lima (1401 K St., NW)
When: 9 PM–2 AM, Saturday, December 24
Price: $20 in advance, $25 at the door

The second annual “put your falafel balls to good use” event doesn’t actually feature chickpea fritters, but instead lots of drink specials (Latke Shots, Falafel Baltinis, and Holy Moses), DJs and dancing. All proceeds will benefit local food programs (Jewish and Non-Jewish) through a designated gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Get tix here.

Sunday, December 25

There are actually quite a few bars that will be open on Christmas Day, some with limited menus, some with holiday drink specials. Check out our listing here.

Merry Christmas from Drink DC!
