Alero: Word on the street is that mixologist Joshua Berner (most recently behind the acclaimed craft cocktails at Cleveland Park’s Ripple) was on the opening team at Alero’s U Street location, where you can still ask for the off-menu Margarita Joshua. The matrimonial swirled frozen margarita is just $5.50 during happy hour (3:30-7 PM, Monday-Saturday), while Mexican beers are $3.50.
